He goes by “The Answer.”
The little man with a big heart. He has experienced the ups, the downs, and now the end.
We all remember Allen Iverson for being every little kid’s role model. There wasn’t a child that didn’t ever or ever want to wear that special no. 3 jerseyon their back. He gave the youth hope of becoming something big without the height. He brought a connection through people in some way, state or form. Weather it being his height; the location in which he played basketball, or even just his drive, people seemed to always be influenced by him.
As we all know, Iverson has been shipped around from team to team after his departure from the Philadelphia, 76ers. It’s sad to say, but the final ship has sailed.
The answer has now become a question.
Why force something that isn’t there anymore?
Iverson has accomplished so much in his life time; there is no doubt that he will be a future hall of famer. There wasn’t a team in the NBA this upcoming season that was interested in Hampton’s Allen Iverson. The New Jersey Nets even passed on the opportunity. The helpless doesn’t want to acquire your help. The Charlotte Bobcats called Iverson “the answer for trouble”.
There is a lot of criticism that comes about when Iverson’s name is mention. Iverson’s past record for trouble goes deep. He went through legal troubles not being able to play basketball. He overcame it all, and the fact still remains that Allen can still shoot, pass, and score. He can contribute in many ways, but Allen is use to be that premiere leader and he can’t lead a team anymore, which is his down fall. The world would think that Iverson would have an epiphany but he had the opposite.
He figured if the NBA doesn’t want his talent, then he would further his career overseas. He will be most likely ending his hoop dreams in Istanbul to play basketball for besiktas of the Turkish basketball league. He received a two-year contract for $4 million. That is more money than any NBA team will give him again. I was always told; make your next move your best move.
This move may be in desperation, but whatever it is we will find out sooner than later. His arrival in turkey resulted in a huge come out by hundreds of fans. He scored 15 points in the season opener.
The NBA may have made a mistake.
